Philips HTS-3565 Review (HTS3565D/37), Part II

Audio
The surround sound quality of the HTS3565 is also very good for its price. Customers will definitely be pleased by its ability to produce both high and low frequency sounds out of the satellite speakers. Watching movies, listening to music, or even the radio sounds wonderful with the HTS3565.

We were a little skeptical about the small 8" subwoofer. But after adding a bit of boost in the settings into the 8" subwoofer, the bass it produced was surprisingly loud and clear. It truly gave the listening experience a fuller depth and quality that would otherwise be unavailable. In addition, the Philips HTS3565 home theater system is capable of a total 1000 watts continuous (RMS) power output; so volume is truly not a problem for this unit. The Philips HTS3565 is capable of multiple surround sound technology such as Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Prologic II, Stereo, and "forced" surround. It also has 8 preset equalizer settings that are tailored for every environment and viewing preferences. You could also adjust audio synchronization, which could fix common "slow-lips" problems; and you could also adjust each speaker's volume level so as to emphasize bass or surround sound.

Connectivity
What we liked about the HTS3565 is the units wide range of connectivity capabilities for both digital and analog or coaxial technology. It of course features HDMI and component video outputs, as well as S-Video, and composite RCA video. It also has a very rare iPod dock, and a USB port. What's also nice about the Philips HTS3565 are the color-coded snap-in speaker wire connection which eliminates frustrating installation time. There is also an increasingly rare Digital Coaxial audio input connection which accommodates for a plethora of digital and satellite television. equipment.

Conclusion
The Philips HTS3565 is a very cheap home theater solution that is designed to deliver high quality audio and video at a very low price. Users everywhere are reporting very pleasing experiences with the HTS3565, and there is no reason not to have such an experience. With its superb surround sound quality and high definition upconversion capabilities, and even an iPod dock, you won't regret the purchase of the HTS3565D/37!

Philips HTS-3565 Review (HTS3565D/37), Part I

The HTS3565D/37 is a cheap home theater system by Philips is found at virtually any local Walmart, Target, as well as Best Buy stores. Do not let the low price discourage you from buying this high quality and high performing home theater system. The Philips HTS3565 is the latest replacement model from the previous surprisingly successful HTS3555 and HTS3544. This home theater in a box package includes a DVD receiver, four satellite speakers, one center speaker, and one 8" subwoofer.Upconversion Capability
The Philips HTS3565 is capable of upscaling or upconverting regular DVD movies to full HD 1080p resolution. Upconversion is an ability of certain DVD players that is able to convert 480p standard DVD resolution to 780p, 1080i, or 1080p HD resolution. This is highly useful for large HDTV that are capable of larger resolution HD images. Unfortunately, most standard DVD movies end up looking stretched and grainy. But with upconversion, standard DVD movies will end up looking like near HD quality images.

Though you do have the option in spending hundreds of dollars more on HD DVD players or BluRay, but the competition is still incredibly high for the two HD-quality players that most people do not look forward to investing much money into an unknown future of the two brands. But take it from our experience, the upconversion capabilities of the HTS3565 looks great. We tested the unit with the movie i-Robot starring Will Smith. The picture looks incredibly clear and looks great on a large widescreen HDTV.
